Missed Mass this Past Sunday?

Fr. Eric can’t put anything in writing at this point, but he did preach about something significant that made the Gospel passage come alive in a very real way.  Drop him an email and he’ll fill you in on the details.  Or call a fellow parishioner–it was homily that few will forget.

New For Spring: Website 3.0

March 26, 2009 by Fr. Eric
Filed under Staff Member's Weekly Column

Once upon a time we had a website that was the envy of all in the diocese.  Even with the passage of time, it was still holding up pretty good in terms of delivering information. However, it was lacking some key ingredients, like a calendar or the ability for you all to offer feedback. Plus,  it wasn’t very user friendly to keep updated.

I am pleased to announce the RELAUNCH of our www.john23rd.org website.  It has all kinds of new bells and whistles that will keep you coming back!  Among other features, now you will be able to see the parish event calendar at a glance; have an opportunity to post news and information; and respond to the pastor’s column (be nice!).  There is a new media section where you can easily access photos, videos, and audio.  Go and check it out.  Post a reply to this column with your thoughts and suggestions.

Special thanks goes to parishioner and webmaster Dan Greene who has been shepherding our site since Nicole Burriesci Galletta first constructed it back in 2001 as part of her Master’s Degree in Information Science.  Dan, who is a webmaster at the UT Library, will continue to work with all of us to make sure the site will serve the needs of the parish to be another great way to spread the Good News of how God is at work in our community of faith!  If you want to ask him a specific question about the site, email him at DGreene@utk.edu.

Through the intercession of St. Isidore of Seville, the patron saint of the internet, may God bless this website that it may illumine and inspire all who gaze upon it!

Happy Surfing, Father Eric
